Here at Accident Advice Helpline, we operate one of the largest personal injury law firms in the United Kingdom. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that so many people get in touch with us asking for help with a compensation claim in Blackpool. Sadly, however, we can’t deal with each and every claim that comes our way. Due to the way in which we operate, which is on a 100% no win, no fee basis, we do have to be very selective with regards to the type of case that we deal with.
On this page, we are going to discuss the various checks that we have in place to determine whether your compensation claim is a good fit for us or not.
When did the accident occur?
This is the most important check that we have in place. Generally speaking, we can only provide help with a compensation claim in Blackpool if the incident occurred within the last three years. There are a couple of minor exceptions to this rule, but, in most cases you have a hard three-year limit and if you are outside of this, you will be unable to claim any compensation, sadly.
So, it is, therefore, vital that you start your claim for compensation sooner as opposed to later. Remember, quick compensation claims also mean that you will be able to get your hands on the money that you are owed far quicker.
Who was to blame for the accident?
If you are to blame for the incident, you can forget about the idea of claiming compensation. If you wish to receive money you must establish it was the negligent actions of another person which led to you being injured. This may, for instance, mean the negligent actions of another driver on the road when it comes to car crashes or, perhaps, your employer if you were injured on the job. We will be able to help you to gather all of the evidence that you need here.
Were you injured?
You can only claim compensation, through Accident Advice Helpline, at least, if you were actually injured in the incident. This could be a psychological injury or a physical injury. It does not matter too much about the severity of your injuries. However, we do ask that you provide us with a medical report when you get in touch with us. If you have not visited the doctor or hospital and had a medical report produced, our team here will be unable to help you out.
