What is HAVS?
HAVS – Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome – is a very serious injury that is caused by using hand held power tools over a long period of time, usually ten years or more. It is a debilitating condition that is caused by damaged blood vessels, normally in the hands. HAVS can leave you with a serious loss of hand functions, such as lack of grip and fine motor control, as well as being very painful particularly in cold weather.

HAVS, or vibration white finger, is an injury that is suffered by approximately 1 in 10 people who work with power tools for a large part of their working day over a period of years.
