FAQs about making public liability claims

If you have been hurt in public, you may have a number of questions pertaining to making a compensation claim.

We receive over 25,000 enquiries a month, and below, we answer some of the most common questions pertaining to accidents that have taken place in public.

How do I know if I can make a claim?

You are eligible by law to make a claim if you have been hurt within the past three years in an accident caused by someone else’s negligence. This means that when you have slipped, tripped, fallen or otherwise hurt yourself in a public space, if someone else’s negligence lead to this accident, you could be eligible to make a public liability claim and receive compensation.

What should I do after my accident?

In order to prove you were in no way at fault, you should obtain as much supporting information as possible from the scene of your incident. This can be witness statements, photographs and official accident reports. This information should then be shared with your personal injury solicitor, so that they can build a strong case.

Do you have experience handling Harlow claims for injuries sustained in public?

At Accident Advice Helpline, we have over fourteen years of experience handling these sorts of claims, along with others involving no-fault accidents.
