Claims for an injury from an accident caused by a vehicle during a police car chase can be made by calling the Hammersmith and Fulham accident claims helpline.

The borough of Hammersmith and Fulham is located in West London in England and it was the site of an incident where a police officer was hit by a vehicle while it was in a police car chase. The police officer was attempting to stop the car which had fled from a police vehicle outside the local police station in West London. The vehicle mounted the street pavement and knocked the female police officer down on to Hammersmith Broadway in the afternoon and was taken to the local hospital. Scotland Yard has stated that the officer’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening with reports of a broken leg and concussion from the incident.

Hammersmith and Fulham Police were able to stop the vehicle later and arrested a 24-year-old man on a charge of ‘suspicion of attempted murder’ and a charge of ‘failing to stop at a crash scene’. The junction of Hammersmith Broadway and Shepherds Bush Road in Hammersmith was closed by police in both directions for hours after the incident while they conducted their investigation.

Hammersmith and Fulham Police confirmed that the officer that was hit by the car during the car chase was a member of their force. A spokesperson for Hammersmith and Fulham Police said that Shepherds Bush Road is closed for the ongoing investigation and would be opened as soon as it is possible to do so. Scotland Yard also made a statement to the media in regards to the incident that briefly outlined the details of the incident and said that the officer’s foot might been run over.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said that they sent an emergency crew to the scene quickly. They added that they treated a woman who is in her 40s and took her to the nearby St Mary’s Hospital.
