The local district of Hambleton is found in the North Yorkshire county in England and it was the site of an accident where a man died after being being hit by a taxi on Haxby Road. The incident in York came after a group of men were involved in a violent altercation near the Nuffield Hospital.

The emergency services were contacted shortly afterwards by a taxi driver who said that his vehicle had been involved in a crash with a pedestrian. Firefighters, paramedics and police officers came to the scene quickly to help save the young man but he was pronounced dead at the crash site. The section of Haxby Road from Yearsely Bridge to the Nuffield Hospital was closed for around 12 hours after the incident while the police investigation was conducted.

One man involved in the incident has already appeared in court on a manslaughter charge. Five people have been questioned by police but they are still looking for another two men in their investigation into the young man’s death. Police have told the two men to come forward to assist with the investigation and that it will help their cause if they do so as soon as possible.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on Haxby Road in Hambleton but it is thought that the victim was directly involved in a violent incident before he was hit by the taxi. Police arrested six people at the scene of the incident shortly after it occurred but four of them have were released on bail the next day.

A detective inspector from York Police has said that officers will continue to look for the two men who are linked to the incident and have called for anyone who knows their whereabouts to come forward and contact the police.
