Accidents can cause injuries of varying severity and type. For some, an accident will result in relatively minor injuries such as a sprained wrist following a slip. For others, accidents can cause severe and life-changing injuries such as paralysis following a car accident, or brain damage following a fall from height.

No matter what your injuries, it can be useful to reference free injury photos to check what may be classed as severe and which injuries are minor. This may be able to help to set your expectations for making a claim for compensation.

Where can I find free injury photos?

You may be able to find free injury photos online. Some people may have posted information on the internet about their personal injury claim, including images of their injury. This may be a swollen knee, a broken arm or a neck brace. If you decide to search for free injury photos online, be aware that you may come across upsetting images.

If you would prefer an alternative way of finding information about your injuries, there are plenty of ways to do this.

How do I get advice about my injuries and compensation claim?

For advice about your injuries, recovery and health, you should see your GP, or in emergency situations your local A&E. A medical professional will be able to diagnose the problem and advise on a course of treatment, which may include rest and painkillers for more minor injuries, or a course of stronger medication and specialist treatment for more severe issues.

Once you have visited your doctor, you will understand exactly what your injury is. You should ask your GP to confirm this in a medical report, which will be referenced for compensation purposes.

Next, you should contact a compensation provider. To get in touch with Accident Advice Helpline, you have a number of options available:
