    Robertsbridge and making compensation claims

Robertsbridge is a village within the civil parish of Salehurst and Robertsbridge, found inside the bounds of the ceremonial county of East Sussex, in the south of England.

The village is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Hastings and 13 miles (21 km) south-east of Tunbridge Wells and is also along the course of the River Rother.

The history of the village of Robertsbridge

It is believed that the establishment of the settlement, and its subsequent name of Robertsbridge, dates back to 1176 when a Cistercian abbey was established on the site by the abbot, Robert de St Martin. The first written reference to the name of Robertsbridge comes approximately 20 years after this, when a charter was granted to the town by Richard I in 1198, for the holding of a weekly market.

In spite of the dissolution of Robertsbridge’s abbey in 1538, it was in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries that the village really began to thrive and there are in fact a number of historic buildings from this period still in evidence in Robertsbridge today.

Most notably amongst these is The Seven Stars Inn on the historic High Street, which is a popular and well visited public house in the village.

Robertsbridge also has a historical claim to fame in the realm of music, in that it is the home to the Robertsbridge Codex of 1360, which is the earliest surviving example of music written specifically for keyboard.

The modern day village of Robertsbridge

Today, Robertsbridge has grown to be a village with more than 2,500 residents and a plethora of impressive transport links, which include the fact that the Robertsbridge railway station is on the Hastings main line.

What this tells us is that the village has a relatively significant population center and as such for experienced solicitors in Robertsbridge, this does give rise to a fairly high number of compensation claims.

Compensation claims and experienced solicitors in Robertsbridge

It is accidents and injuries which are not the fault of the victim which give rise to compensation claims.

So it is for this reason therefore that for experienced solicitors Robertsbridge can be a more common source of these claims, due to the higher number of such accidents which are caused by there being significant population in the area.

What this means for you as the potential innocent victim of an accident, therefore, is that you may one day find yourself in need of the help of experienced solicitors Robertsbridge residents and if you ever do then you will want to give Accident Advice Helpline a call.
