Accidents in garden centres
On the face of it garden centres may not seem to be the most dangerous of environments. However, you may be surprised to know just how many accidents occur each year within garden centres and DIY stores up and down the country.
If you have been injured in an accident in a garden centre, or any other venue for that matter, then our Eden accident claim solicitors at Accident Advice Helpline may be able to help you make a claim for compensation. Why not contact us today or take our 30 second test to find out more?
Slips, trips and falls
As with most places a slip, trip or fall accident is the most common way that people are injured within garden centres.
Poor housekeeping, such as the failure to clean up spillages can result in customers slipping over when they walk down the aisles. Equally, during periods of heavy rain (not entirely uncommon within the United Kingdom) customers can be injured in entranceways if non-slip matting is not provided. In such cases our Eden accident claim solicitors would be able to make a claim for compensation on your behalf as steps could have, and should have, been taken to ensure that your safety was taken care of.
Customers can also trip if stock has not been put away properly. Leaving items lying discarded on the floor can present potential hazards, especially when people are pushing trolleys and may be unable to see the path clearly ahead of them. Again, our Eden accident claim solicitors would be able to argue that the owners of the store in which you were in at the time of the accident could be liable for your injuries.
Unfortunately, falls can also occur especially in areas where there may be pot holes or steep banks. If these are not properly signed and appropriate measures such as securing handrails are not taken, then accidents can happen. The injuries caused as a result of these accidents can be serious.
Of course, it’s not just the customers themselves that may fall, but items can fall on them causing injury. If stock is not secured or stacked properly on shelving units, or the units themselves are not secured safely, then the results can be disastrous.
