Staffordshire is broken up into a number of government districts. One of these is called East Staffordshire. The area includes two significant towns, one of which is Burton upon Trent, and a variety of villages. It’s good to know that East Staffordshire road traffic accidents are low in general, although of course there are incidents that occur on a regular basis, just as they do elsewhere in other districts and counties.
Most people have a good driving record and have never been involved in a road traffic accident, here or anywhere else. However, some have been unlucky enough to be caught up in a crash that was caused by someone else. You never know when this might happen, or whether someone else could end up causing a crash you can do nothing to avoid.
How might you be injured?
It would be rare to come out of a road traffic accident without any injuries at all. Even the most minor incidents tend to cause aches and pains from the force of the impact. You don’t need to be travelling that fast to incur injuries from your seatbelt holding you in place in your seat, for example. Your head will also be thrown forward in the impact, which can cause whiplash to occur as your neck muscles and tendons are overstretched.
Obviously, more serious accidents can involve more serious injuries. It is impossible to tell what sort of accident might result in certain types of injuries though. In some cases, you may end up being seriously injured and require emergency medical treatment in order to recover.
Can you claim compensation?
Not everyone likes to ask this question, but it is important to consider what the answer might be in your case. For instance, if your injuries have caused you pain and suffering, and you were not at fault for causing the accident, it is worth asking whether a third party was at fault.
