"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Driving Accidents

Anybody who drives in the UK will be aware that our roads have become very congested places. In fact, there are now more than 34 million vehicles registered in the UK. Driving accidents are therefore a fact of life. No matter how careful we may be as road users, we run an almost everyday risk of being injured because of the careless or negligence of other drivers.

    Establishing blame for driving accidents

So how do you know if somebody else is to blame for an accident? In many cases, fault will be determined by insurance and police reports, but there are also steps that you can take which can be enormously helpful if you later need to make a claim for personal injury compensation. These might include:

    • taking photographs of the scene including damage to vehicles and the final position of the vehicles involved in the incident
    • making sketches of the sequence of events, direction of traffic just prior to the accident etc.
    • writing a full account of the incident as soon as possible afterwards, while the details are still fresh in your mind, making particular note of any suspicions you may have about the other party having been drinking or using a mobile telephone

    Injuries from driving accidents

Driving accidents can cause a wide range of injuries, ranging from the minor to the very severe and even fatal. One of the most common injuries we deal with is whiplash, which is caused when the head is snapped backwards and forwards with force during the impact of a crash. Whiplash injuries can be very painful and have long-lasting effects.

We also commonly deal with a host of other injuries, from cuts and lacerations, to broken bones, internal injuries and many others too numerous to mention.

    Starting a compensation claim

If you have been involved in a road traffic incident in the last three years which you believe was somebody else’s fault, then you would be well advised to find out whether you have a valid claim for personal injury compensation.
