"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Dear Esther helpline

You could be forgiven for thinking that Dear Esther helpline is like the Samaritans, but, although we offer people advice, we don’t usually deal with the sort of problems the Samaritans are trained to deal with. No, Dear Esther helpline is what some people think we at Accident Advice Helpline are called. We can see how this could happen as Dame Esther Rantzen, the champion of consumer rights, is our patron and her face appears on almost every page on our website. So we understand why some people think of us as the Dear Esther helpline.

    Dear Esther helpline

We at Accident Advice Helpline, or the Dear Esther helpline, if you would prefer to think of us that way, give expert legal advice to people who are considering making a claim for personal injury compensation. Some of the most frequently asked questions we get are: –

1 How long do you have to claim compensation?

2 How much compensation will you receive?

3 What can you claim personal injury compensation for?

    Open Claim Calculator

The answer to the first question is that normally you have three years from the date of your accident, or of first being diagnosed with an occupational disease or work-related illness, to file a claim.

The answer to the second question is that no one can predict exactly how much you might get awarded in damages for your injury or illness. There are so many things that can affect the outcome of your claim that the best we can do is give you an estimate. You can get this by completing our 30-second test, either online or by phone with one of our advisors.

The answer to the third question is that you can claim personal injury compensation for an injury sustained in an accident that was not your fault but caused by another person’s negligence. You can also claim for a work-related illness or an occupational disease if you can prove negligence on the part of your employer. You can claim for the pain and suffering you have been forced to endure, as well as for any costs and losses that are a result of the accident.
