Cost of claiming compensation in Mendip

Are you losing sleep about the cost of claiming compensation in Mendip? If so, you’re not alone. Legal fees can be pretty expensive and the chances are none of us would be able to afford them if we didn’t have a little help which is why the removal of legal aid was such a big problem, but there are alternatives.

About the cost of claiming compensation in Mendip

At the end of the 90s the government removed legal aid from the majority of personal injury law suits. This meant that everyone could potentially become responsible for their own legal fees. The result was that many people began to fear that they would not be able to afford to make a claim.

In place of legal aid the government brought in a concept known as no win no fee. This does exactly what it says – if you do not win your case you will not have to pay any legal fees. There may be other costs associated with your claim which do not count as part of this agreement, but the biggest financial hurdle has been cleared.

    About claims insurance

There are other options – most notably claims insurance which does a similar job and is often marketed in the same way. You can take out an insurance policy to cover you in the event that you lose your case. This can be successful in offsetting the biggest risk you take, but it can come with significant downsides.

There will always be premium fees to pay no matter what happens with your case. The small print can also be a bit of an issue. There may be an excess included in which case you won’t be able to make a claim for anything higher than a certain amount. This could leave you stuck with some of your bill.

That’s why we believe no win no fee represents a much fairer option. It’s far simpler and means you will not find yourself falling short of any small print.
