    Compensation information in Craven

Have you been injured in an accident that was not your fault? If so, and you are looking for compensation information in Craven, read on to discover the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we get here at Accident Advice Helpline.

    Compensation information in Craven: FAQ

How much compensation will I get? Unfortunately, it is impossible to say without knowing the ins and outs of your case. If you would like to call our advisor and tell us about your accident, we can answer this for you. But, one thing you should be aware of is the fact that compensation is split into two parts – general damages and special damages. The former is for your suffering while the latter is for any out of pocket expenses you have incurred, such as prescription costs and loss of income. If you would like a more specific estimate, you can give us a call or you can use the free 30-second test on our website.

How long have I got to make a claim? You have three years from the date of the accident to make a claim – this is the time limit on nearly all personal injury cases. However, you should be mindful of the fact that court proceedings must be issued within this time frame. Moreover, if you have suffered from an injury that has occurred over time, such as vibration white finger or industrial deafness, you will have three years from the date of your diagnosis instead.

Will I have to go to court? It is extremely unlikely that you will have to go to court. In fact, fewer than three per cent of personal injury cases result in a trial. Here at Accident Advice Helpline we try to resolve all cases over the phone when possible.

Can I make a claim if I have not seen a doctor? You need to see a doctor if you want to have any chance of securing compensation. This is because the medical report they provide is the key piece in the puzzle and without it you will have no way of proving your injuries.
