Compensation guides for personal injury back claims

Personal injury back claims are fairly common because bad posture and incorrect lifting at work is often overlooked and so it may not be noticed until the damage has already been done. You may have even injured your back after a bad accident and want to know more about your next steps. If you have been suffering with a back injury and want to know more about compensation, call Accident Advice Helpline for free, friendly advice.

    Poor posture and lifting

At work your employer is responsible for your health and safety, this includes your posture at your desk or workstation and that you are lifting or moving heavy items correctly. Perhaps your company is regularly undertaking this training and observation with new staff but you have been overlooked?

Your employer should be working with you to make sure your chair supports your back and that any equipment you use at your workstation is positioned correctly so you are not overreaching or straining. You should also have received manual handling training to ensure that heavy items are handled correctly.

Personal injury back claims following an accident

You may have sustained your back injury after an accident such as a fall from height, car collision or sports accident leaving you with pain and discomfort. You may have had to stop playing sports, take time off from work and be relying on painkillers to get through your day. In some nasty accidents back surgery may be required or you may have been left needing rehabilitation to walk again. You may now be paralysed for the rest of your life and feeling helpless.

If you don’t believe the accident which caused your back injury was your fault then compensation could be awarded to you. To be eligible to claim your accident must have happened in the last three years and you must have sought medical attention. If you want to find out if you qualify to make a claim and want to know how much you could receive in compensation, contact Accident Advice Helpline.
