    Compensation claim Wroxall

If you live in a small community such as Wroxall on the Isle of Wight, you may fear that you do not have access to a national firm of lawyers. This could not be further from the truth. When a local builder had a motorcycle accident he found that he was easily able to make a compensation claim in Wroxall, just as if he lived in London, Birmingham or Manchester.

How is this possible? Well here’s his story

    A compensation claim in Wroxall

Two years ago I had a nasty motorcycle accident in Wroxall on the Isle of Wight. I’d pulled away from my house and was heading down the lane towards where I work when a car came barrelling around the corner on the wrong side of the road and far too fast for the amount of visibility the driver had on the bend.

I had no chance. I hit the hood of the car dead centre and the bike and I were catapulted over the top of the car and onto the road behind the car. I’m only glad I wasn’t going any faster because I could have been killed.

I broke both thumbs through impacting against the handle bars and I broke my collar bone when I landed on the road. Along with concussion and shock it was not a good time.

Obviously breaking both thumbs is pretty inconvenient. I couldn’t do anything for myself and so my partner had to help me a great deal. She took ten days off initially to make sure I was looked after, but as she lost earnings for that she soon went back to work. I was stuck at home unable to ride or drive.

Recuperation was slow. My collar bone healed of course but my thumbs are still very weak. I’ve had physiotherapy but I still can’t open jars and bottles, lift a teapot or a pan of vegetables, and sometimes struggle to turn on taps.

Accident Advice Helpline were fantastic though. I imagined that living on the Isle of Wight would mean I couldn’t access a reputable law firm but Accident Advice Helpline have lawyers all over the UK, so I was able to pursue my compensation claim in Wroxall quite easily.

I received compensation for my injuries and loss of earnings, and also for my partner’s loss of earnings. I’ve some way to go but the future looks brighter thanks to Accident Advice Helpline.
