Common accidents in the workplace in Burnley

Here at Accident Advice Helpline, we can deal with all manner of injuries suffered in the workplace. There are some that we deal with more often than others though. On this page, we are going to take a look at some of the most common accidents in the workplace in Burnley.

Remember; even if your incident does not appear on this list, you still may be able to make a claim for compensation. All you need to do is prove that you have suffered an injury and that this injury was down to the negligence of your employer. Please give us a no obligation call if you wish to discuss your case in more depth.

    Slips, trips and falls

When it comes to common accidents in the workplace in Burnley, there is no incident which seems to occur more often than slips, trips, and falls. These incidents are especially common in construction environments where it is not unheard of for materials and the like to be left out of place. They can, however, occur in retail environments e.g. wet floors, or in office environments, for example, if a box of paper is left in an inappropriate position.

    Head injuries

Again, this is an injury which is especially common in those that work on construction sites. Remember; a hard hat can only protect you so much. Falling material can have an absolutely huge impact on your life. Of course, head injuries are also common in retail and warehouse environments.

    Burns and scalds

Now, most people seem to think that burns and scalds only occur in restaurant environments. However, they are also incredibly common in those who work with certain chemicals. In fact, you could even be burned or scalded by certain machinery if the right precautions are not taken. Thankfully, most burns and scalds are not all that serious and should clear up pretty sharpish. However, there are some which can have an impact on the rest of your life and will require numerous skin grafts.

    Falls from height

You may also suffer a fall from height in the workplace. Obviously, working from a height is inherently dangerous. This is why it is your employer’s responsibility to provide you with the right safety equipment and training. If they fail to do this and you end up becoming injured, there is a fairly decent chance that you will end up being able to make a claim. Remember, you don’t even have to fall from that high in order to be seriously injured.
