    Claims in Ryedale

Ryedale is a non-metropolitan district which can be found within the administrative county of North Yorkshire, in the northern part of England. The district includes the settlements of Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, Malton, Norton-on-Derwent, Pickering, and Terrington and is also partly within the North York Moors National Park.

The Naming and Formation of Ryedale

The district of Ryedale takes its name from the River Rye which runs through its boundaries. Before it came to refer to the current district the name was used to define an historical wapentake (an ancient name for a certain area) of Yorkshire, that covered roughly the same area.

The current district as it is today came into being on the 1st April 1974 following the passage of the Local Government Act of 1972, which reorganised local government across the whole of the UK. In the case of Rydale it created the new district as a merger of a collection of smaller previous districts known as the urban district of Norton, Norton Rural District, the urban districts of Malton and Pickering, Flaxton Rural District, Helmsley Rural District, Kirkbymoorside Rural District, Malton Rural District and Pickering Rural District.

    Modern Day Ryedale

After its formation in 1974, the new district of Ryedale has covered a land area of approximately 582 square miles and as of a 2011 estimate was home to around 51,900 residents. This gives the area a population district of just 89 per square mile which is a comparatively very low level of population. This means that when it comes to personal injury compensation claims Ryedale is not a particularly common source but does not mean that no claims can arise from the district.

    Personal Injury Claims in Ryedale

Personal injury compensation claims in Ryedale or otherwise, result from incidents where a person is injured but it was another party that was demonstrably to blame. It is therefore the injury victim who is entitled to pursue a claim and it is clear to see that these kinds of incidents can occur anywhere. It is for that reason, then, that you may still one day find yourself in a position to pursue your own claims in Ryedale. If this ever is the case you will want to know about the best people you can contact for help; Accident Advice Helpline.
