"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

What questions do you need to ask a car lawyer?

If you are in a vehicle accident then you will need a car lawyer but it is important the car lawyer is the right one for you and your case. You can ask them questions in order to determine if the lawyer meets your requirements. Some of the answers to the questions can be obtained from the firm that they belong to so you do not need to even see a car lawyer.

Firstly, you need to know how much the lawyer will charge to take on your case as you can rack up unwanted legal costs if you don’t win the case. However, many lawyers such as Accident Advice Helpline take cases on a no win no fee basis so that you are not out of pocket if you lose the case.

Some lawyers charge a contingency fee where they are paid a fixed percentage of the total value of the compensation amount if you win. Often this figure is around the 30 percent mark. Other lawyers will charge you hourly fees for their services and this can result in the aforementioned build up of expensive legal bills.

In addition, some lawyers will charge you a fee to cover the court costs if an out of court settlement is unable to be made and the matter is taken to court. You should ask your car lawyer about these costs if the matter is taken to court to avoid expensive court costs.

The main question that you should ask a car lawyer is “Do I have a case for damages?”. The lawyer’s answer should be clear and give you a good idea about whether you are pursuing the case. To win the case, your lawyer should be able to prove without reasonable doubt that that the party you are claiming against has breached a duty of care.

Another good issue to ask is about the time limit that you have to make a claim as there are generally time limits set by the legislation to make a claim. In the UK, this time limit is 3 years and there are very few exceptions to this deadline.

If you are injured in an accident a car lawyer from Accident Advice Helpline can take your case on a no win no fee basis.
