Rage related car accident claims in Leven are few and far between, but they can and do happen from time to time. An incident recently occurred, and whist it wasn’t a road traffic accident as such, it does illustrates how road rage can easily overflow and get out of hand.
39-year-old man attacked in the street in Leven
A 39-year-old man was walking down Glebe Street in Leven, with his wife and three young children when he was set upon and attacked. Just before the incident took place, the 39-year-old was involved in some sort of altercation with the occupants of a red hatchback. The incident took place at the Garrison Place roundabout.
Road rage attack left wife and children traumatised
The occupants of the red hatchback attacked the 39-year-old when he later walked down the street, kicking and punching him. Police officers who attended the scene said that it was a vicious assault which had left the man injured, and traumatised his wife and children. They have appealed to anybody who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Typical road rage incidents
Incidents like this happen all too often. There was a recent incident in London whereby the driver of a black BMW got out of his vehicle and assaulted a cyclist at a set of traffic lights. This sort of incident is a criminal offence and should be treated as actual bodily harm. In some instances however, road rage can lead to serious RTAs, when combatants try and outdo each other on the road, with dangerous overtaking manoeuvres and dangerous breaking manoeuvres. Another favourite trick is tailgating; driving dangerously close to the rear bumper of the car in front in order to try and intimidate its driver.
