    Buckley accident claims

Hand-arm vibration syndrome is the more modern name for an industrial condition that used to be known as vibration white finger, or dead finger. It is a work-related condition that your employer should protect you from, and if they fail in this duty, Buckley accident claims are a way of you claiming the compensation you are entitled to.

There are health and safety rules and regulations that your boss should follow to prevent this condition, particularly restricting the use of vibrating tools. If they fail in this responsibility, you may be able to claim compensation, by making Buckley accident claims against your employer.

This is an incurable condition that you should never have contracted in the first place, but if you do you should immediately stop using the tools causing it, to try and prevent it from getting any worse.

Below are the different tools that can cause this condition, and their use should be restricted to try and prevent it:

    • Chainsaws
    • Pneumatic drills
    • Sanders
    • Strimmers
    • Grinders
    • Hammers
    • Impact wrenches

If you are constantly using any one of these machines, because your boss is not following the rules, then you are running the risk of suffering this terrible condition.

The symptoms of hand-arm vibration syndrome

If you ignore these symptoms then this condition can get gradually worse over time. Although there is no cure, you can help prevent it from getting any worse by looking out for:

    • Tingling, whiteness or numbness in the fingers. To start with it may only be in the fingertips so not very noticeable but over time it will spread to the rest of the finger and you may lose the feeling in the affected area.
    • If you continue to use vibrating tools, the fingers will change colour. They start by going pale and numb before turning red and painful. The attacks will become more regular, particularly in cold weather.
    • Eventually you will lose manual dexterity and grip.
