    Car accident in Broxtowe

Potholes can result in a car accident in Broxtowe

The district of Broxtowe is situated in the Nottinghamshire county in England and Broxtowe is one of a number of districts that could receive funding to repair potholes that cause a number of car accident in Broxtowe.

Potholes cause problems for drivers all across England and the government has announced plans to invest 3 million pounds into road maintenance. It is estimated that these funds could repair over 60,000 potholes that exist in roads in the county.

Businesses and motorists have welcomed the move but have been dismayed that it took this long for money to become available for road maintenance considering the current state that the roads in Nottinghamshire have fallen into. Over the past ten years, the roads have become worse and worse without even a hint of any plans to make repairs. Vast numbers of drivers have damaged their vehicles after hitting a pothole and it has resulted in some compensation claims being made against local councils.

It is also important to note that there are various parliamentary seats in Nottinghamshire that are marginal and may make the difference in the next election. Broxtowe, Nottingham South and Sherwood are the main marginal districts that are likely to see funding for road maintenance. The districts do realize this point but regardless will welcome the extra funding as it is sorely needed.

The road repair work is due to be completed by March next year and David Cameron has said in reference to the funding announcement that potholes can cause serious damage to cars, bicycles and motorbikes and can result in huge costs for people if their vehicle receives pothole damage.

While this announcement only relates to road maintenance funding for Nottinghamshire, across the UK, there will be 168 million pounds provided across 148 local authorities for road repair and maintenance.

Individual residents have played their part in getting this new funding by letting their county council know about the potholes near their homes.
