Accident Advice Helpline do not just help with car accidents. Did you know that we can also provide you with an impressive package of legal support if you sustain a Bristol accident injury from your workplace or an incident in a public place? Take a look at this.

Getting help after a Bristol accident injury – the workplace

A Bristol accident injury can happen in any type of workplace in the Bristol area. A construction worker could have a Bristol accident injury if they are hit by a piece of machinery or fall when working form a height, or a waiter or kitchen assistant could slip on a greasy floor. In both of these examples, it may be possible to show that the employer was actually responsible for the accident. Accident Advice Helpline can assist with this.

In the first example, it may be possible for Accident Advice Helpline to show that the employer caused the accident, so a claim for compensation would be started against them. The employer may not have devised a safe system of work for the task that the construction worker was carrying out, which may be because they did not carry out a risk assessment to thoroughly assess and analyse the hazards. This can have a knock-on effect of not providing the correct equipment for the job, or even carrying out a job in a way that is hazardous. Perhaps a ladder was used when scaffolding should have been erected, or perhaps personal protective equipment (such as hard hats) were not worn.

In the second example, an employee may have slipped on a greasy kitchen floor because there was no clear system in place for promptly clearing up spillages. A commercial kitchen is always going to be somewhere that has greasy substances (sauces, gravies and so on), and it is inevitable that some will end up on the floor. The key factor here is whether a system was in place to promptly identify spillages and clear them up. This may include staff training and the provision of easily accessible cleaning equipment. In some areas, it may be necessary to install non-slip flooring and keep it maintained and clean so that it works properly. Non-slip footwear can also play a role in preventing such accidents.

Accident Advice Helpline will allocate you a personal injury lawyer who will be able to show who was to blame for your Bristol accident injury, then set about negotiating a sum in compensation. You can get a rough guide of what this sum may be by taking part in the Accident Advice Helpline 30-second test, which you can access online or over the phone.
