    What is a concussion?

Everyone knows that if you are involved in a serious Bracknell Forest car accident or any other type of accident, one of the things you should be aware of and looking out for is a concussion. A concussion is a type of brain injury which can cause serious complications and even death if it is not dealt with properly.

You should also be aware, though, that if you are involved in a Bracknell Forest car accident, this does not necessarily mean that you will have suffered a concussion or that you will have sustained any serious injury, just that it is better to be checked out for these types of problems rather than assume you are fine. Most of the time a concussion can be easily treated so that you will be back to normal in no time.

What causes a concussion in a Bracknell Forest car accident?

A concussion is caused by the brain moving around inside the skull, knocking against the walls and becoming bruised or otherwise damaged. Tearing of the blood vessels and nerve injury is also common when the brain is moved around violently. The reason for the brain to move so violently is usually that the head has had a heavy or crushing blow, and this can be caused by physical fights, contact sports, falls or road accidents.

What are the symptoms of concussion?

Sometimes after a head injury, people will get some of the symptoms of a concussion without having actually sustained this type of injury. What you should be aware of is a combination of these symptoms, which is more likely to indicate a concussion which must be dealt with.
