    There are several stages to a bodily injury compensation claim and they all have to be completed in the correct way if you are going to receive a fair amount of compensation at the end of your case.     Stage one of a bodily injury compensation claim – the accident

    Accident Advice Helpline will make sure that you can get hold of us straight after your accident – this ensures that you get the best possible advice right from the beginning and that your bodily injury claim gets off to a good start! We do this by operating a helpline manned by trained advisors who will deal quickly with your situation.

    We will collect some initial details from you and make sure that you actually have grounds to make a claim. If you have not yet left the accident scene we will advise you to collect as much information as you can and this could be in the form of:

    3. Witness contact details
    4. Contact details of the person who was to blame

    Stage two of a bodily injury claim – proving fault

    This is the stage where Accident Advice Helpline will allocate you a personal injury lawyer who is an expert in your type of claim. We will set about proving who was at fault for your accident. Sometimes this is very straightforward and this stage can be completed quickly. For other cases it is more complicated and can take some time. You can help things along at this stage by providing all the information that your personal injury lawyer requests straight away. It is very important to be both truthful and accurate about what happened in your accident. Your lawyer will tell you once liability has been admitted.

    Stage three of a bodily injury compensation claim – negotiating compensation

    Once the person that you will be claiming compensation from has admitted that they are to blame then the process of negotiating how much money you will get can begin. The amount will be determined by a number of factors. One of these is the location and severity of your injury. You will be asked to attend one meeting with a medical practitioner who will prepare a medical assessment report about your injuries. Your medical records from the time of the accident will also be considered.
