    Blackwood claims

    Blackwood claims

Blackwood claims for compensation are not uncommon because of food poisoning, an illness that will make you feel really poorly as it causes nausea, stomach cramps and diarrhoea. In a mild case, this will last for no more than a couple of days, but in severe cases it can have awful effects on a victim.

At its worst it can damage the central nervous system and even cause death. Most cases are isolated instances, but there are times when many people are affected by something which has become contaminated, and these tend to of the more severe variety and usually make headline news.

The media will always highlight such cases to help try and avoid more victims eating or drinking whatever is contaminated, just like the Foods Standards Agency (FSA) will be working to find the source and put a stop to it.

There are some groups of people that are not only more likely to contract the illness, but are also more likely to be badly affected by it. These include:

    • The very young
    • The elderly
    • Victims with low immune systems such as HIV and cancer sufferers

Whether you are in one of these groups or not, if you suffer a bout of food poisoning through someone else’s fault, then you may be entitled to make Blackwood claims for compensation.

It is often assumed that you can only claim compensation when you have eaten prepared food from a restaurant or perhaps had a take away that has made you ill, but this is not the case.
