Protecting customers in a venue and how you can claim accident at work compensation as an employee

If you work in a venue you have plenty of tasks to do on an average work day. One of the most important things you will be asked to do is to protect the customers who come into your venue each evening.

This isn’t an easy task as in any venue there tends to be a lot of people for each event, and a minimal amount of staff, meaning that keeping an eye on everyone can be tricky, and knowing what to do when something goes wrong can be partly a judgement call and partly down to your training.

Either way, if you can’t protect your customers in your work environment, you actually threaten the reputation of your workplace.

    • Make sure that lighting is adequate. One of the things which you should be most aware of in a venue is the lighting. A customer is more likely to be injured by falling over or tripping over uneven floors if the room is too dark and they cannot navigate around easily. The best thing you can do is to ensure that customers have plenty of light around the room, and darkness only when a band is playing.
    • Make sure that customers don’t drink too much. Make sure that staff are trained to notice when a customer is intoxicated, and have enough power that they can refuse to serve people who have had too much to drink. Being really drunk around a large number of people is only ever going to cause serious problems.
    • Have enough security. Making sure that security are a major presence in the venue will stop all kinds of troubles. Not only will it help prevent people from getting violent or behaving badly, they will also be able to look out for potential hazards and stop problems happening before they do.
