    Accident Lawyer in Tower Hamlets

Do you need an accident lawyer in Tower Hamlets because you’ve had an accident at home?

It may come as a surprise to learn that the home is actually the most likely place for an accident to happen – there are more accidents here than in the workplace or on the roads, and the injuries can be severe.

Sometimes, home accidents may not be your fault, either. If so, you could make a claim – and all it takes to get started is one telephone call to Accident Advice Helpline.

The facts about accidents in the home

In 2002, there were 2.7 million accidents that happened at home and resulted in a hospital visit. It wasn’t mostly toddlers, either – under half a million of the victims were aged under five.

But of all the age groups, the under-fives are the most likely to have an accident – along with the over-65s. That doesn’t mean that people in their 30s should be complacent, though – accidents can happen to anyone, and frequently, they do!

What to do if you have an accident at home

If you’re injured in an accident at home, you should seek medical advice as soon as possible. If an ambulance is required, call one. If not, see your GP as soon as you can – later that day, or the next day. You might have been injured but you don’t realise it, which can happen quite easily in cases of whiplash.

After you’ve been checked out, get sufficient rest so that you can recover properly. Also make sure you look at how the accident happened, and take any action needed to prevent something similar happening again.

For example, if you slipped on a rug and fell over, put some non-slip backing on the rug so that it stays put on the surface underneath it.
