Is your car fit for winter use? It should be, because if it isn’t, you could be putting yourself at unnecessary risk of an accident. Why do this, when there’s already enough risk of getting injured in an accident that’s caused by another driver?
What happens if you get into a car accident?
If you’re in an accident that another driver causes, you could lose the use of your car, either because it needs repairing or it gets written off.
The fact that they’re at fault means that their insurer should deal with the repairs or pay out the value of your car, but that doesn’t alter the fact that you’re going to suffer some inconvenience – and some pain from your injuries.
Even if you have a relatively minor injury, such as whiplash, it can still be painful, and you might be out of action for a few weeks. Taking time off work could mean that you lose money, and your finances could be further impacted by the need to hire a home help, take taxis and buses, and pay for prescriptions.
But there is help available from Accident Advice Helpline, in the form of an accident lawyer in Fenland.
What will an accident lawyer in Fenland do?
If you decide to make a claim for compensation against the other driver, your solicitor will work on your behalf. It’s their job to deal with agencies such as insurers, and they will aim to settle your case as soon as possible, getting you the payout you deserve.
They will need your help, of course. You will need to attend an additional medical assessment, and provide evidence of your expenses in the form of receipts – but you can leave the rest to your accident lawyer in Fenland. You probably won’t have to go to court, either.

Making sure your car is ready for winter
Winter driving is difficult and dangerous, even without other ill-prepared motorists around. Make sure you’re not one of them! You don’t want someone to hire an accident lawyer in Fenland because of your error.
Check your fluids. Is your antifreeze at the right level? What about your oil? Top up your washer fluid, too.
Can you see through your windows? Make sure they’re all clean – and don’t set off until any fogging has cleared. Use the air conditioning or a demisting pad on the inside, and de-icer on the exterior.
Get your brakes and tyres checked. These are areas that you can’t ignore – if the tyre tread depth is low, get them changed. If any pads or discs need replacing, don’t hesitate. Having these components working properly could save your life – or someone else’s.
