Sedgemoor is in Somerset and forms part of the Somerset Levels. Around 119,000 people were estimated to live here in 2014, although there is a chance this is approaching 120,000 or so now. The settlement is south of the Polden Hills, which run virtually parallel with the Mendip Hills, with the Levels sitting in-between them. Accident claims in Sedgemoor are rare, with the odd accident leading to a claim but most people escaping the need to even consider claiming under such circumstances.
Many accidents can be prevented, and as we will see here, most of them are far from being serious at all. However, in the case of all road accidents, you never know what the outcome might be.
Do accidents have to be serious in order to have a chance of claiming anything?
No – and this can be a misconception some people have in these situations. For instance, a car accident could result in someone suffering serious injuries that might even be life threatening. However, they could just as easily escape with bruising that looks worse than it really is. Whiplash can be minor and suffered for a day or two, perhaps, but that would still have the potential to lead to a compensation claim if the other party in the accident was at fault.
Finding who was at fault for any accident is the crucial element to consider in any case. You must consider whether someone else was negligent and whether their actions led to the crash taking place. This holds true for all accidents and not just those on the roads.
