Have you been looking for a law firm in Aberdeenshire following an injury you sustained within the last three years in an accident that was someone else’s fault? If so, Accident Advice Helpline can help you through the process of making a claim.

    Following an accident

If you have had a serious accident or injury, it can be difficult for you to get back into your everyday life right away. Rest and recuperation is something that your doctor will no doubt demand, but will also be important to help you to heal physically and psychologically.

However, many people struggle with the idea of not being at work, and may fear that they will lose their jobs if they are not around. In this case, you may want to think about ways in which you can keep your job, and potentially even keep working whilst you are recovering.

    • Ask for a change in working hours. If you can work part-time while you are recovering then your recovery process should not be affected and at the same time you can put in some work for your company.
    • Ask to work from home. Many companies will jump at the chance of this as it means they do not have to provide you with sick pay, as well as pay a temp to come in and do your job as well. This will be a temporary measure, but can also help you to ease back into work.
    • Stay in contact. Your employer will want to be kept up to date with what is happening so that they know when they can expect you back at work, and what is likely to be happening with you in the following weeks. Staying in touch helps them to keep you in mind as well.
    • Go self-employed. If you have a skilled profession and a base of clients you can draw from, think about choosing this time to go self-employed. This means you can stay at home while you are recovering, and offers you a great opportunity once you have fully recovered.
