Redbridge is an electoral ward which can be found within the wider urban area of the city of Southampton and is situated approximately 3.1 miles (5.0 km) to the west of the city centre. The settlement is positioned at the mouth of the River Test and is the southern terminus of the former Andover Canal and Sprat and Winkle railway line and the modern M271 motorway. What’s more, it was this strategically important position which led to Redbridge being home to a significant trading port and a shipbuilding industry which encompassed both naval and other vessels.

The area has had a number of names through its long history but all of them have ended with a suffix referring to a method of crossing the River Test, and started with a prefix which in some way refers to reeds, presumably as these plants were prominent within the river.

Modern-day Redbridge

Today, Redbridge is an area which is largely made up of a combination of residential and industrial land use, with notable landmarks and areas including a large council estate and tower block. According to the latest available census data, the ward has a population of 14,432 permanent residents and this tells us that it is a relatively densely-populated area. Such densely-populated areas tend to produce a comparatively higher number of accidents and injuries and it is this correlation which makes it pertinent for us to now discuss personal injury claims for Redbridge residents.

Personal injury claims in Redbridge

Personal injury compensation claims in Redbridge can only be brought as a result of a victim suffering an injury which was definitively somebody else’s fault.
