Dacorum is a local government district and borough found within the ceremonial county of Hertfordshire, in central England. Some of the major towns and villages within the borough include Hemel Hemstead, Flamstead, Long Marston, Tring, Kings Langley and Wigginton.

The district actually came into existence as recently as 1974, as a result of the 1972 Local Government Act. This act made a huge number of changes at a local government level nationwide and in the case of Dacorum, created the new district from a merger of the municipal borough of Hemel Hempstead, the urban districts of Berkhamsted and Tring, the rural districts of Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead and some parts of the rural districts of St Albans and Watford.
