Croydon is a large town within the southern part of Greater London and is the principal settlement of the London Borough which shares its name. The town is situated approximately 9.5 miles (15.3 km) south of Charing Cross and is on a transport corridor between central London and the south coast of England.

According to the so-called London Plan, Croydon is one of the 11 major metropolitan centres of Greater London but this has not always been the case. Historically, Croydon was a much smaller settlement within the county of Surrey and at the time of the Domesday Book of 1086 it had only around 365 residents. The town has therefore changed a lot over the years.

Croydon In The Modern Day

In the present day, Croydon is a major centre within Greater London, which according to the latest available census data is called home by approximately 52,000 people. The town centre of Croydon has largely been pedestrianised but the railway station of East Croydon remains as a major hub on both the London and the national transport network. Modern day Croydon, therefore, is clearly a busy and active urban centre but that does mean that it can give rise to a fairly considerable number of accidents and injuries. It is with that in mind, then, that it makes sense for us now to briefly discuss personal injury compensation claims that Croydon residents may encounter.

Personal injury claims- Croydon centric or not- can be pursued by the victim of an injury or illness that was demonstrably somebody else’s fault.
