How does a work injury affect pay?

Depending on your employer and your type of contract you may receive pay while recovering from an injury or you may receive half pay or no pay at all. If you want to know how does a work injury affect pay or if you are considering making a claim for compensation following an accident at work which wasn’t your fault, Accident Advice Helpline can help. If we make a claim on your behalf, we will take into consideration any pay which you have received during your time off from work.

    Forklift truck accident

Do you work with or around forklift trucks? Were you hit or run over? Did a forklift truck fall on to you or drop items on you? Forklift truck accidents can be fatal and any lapse in safety around these vehicles should be taken very seriously. You may have been working in an environment where safety was not taken seriously and which led to your unfair accident.

Making a claim for compensation after a forklift truck accident may seem daunting but if you were not to blame and you had to get medical attention for your injuries, why should you not get compensated? Your employer should be covered by accident insurance so there is no reason not to make a claim.

How does a work injury affect pay and will it affect my compensation?

Your employer should have a policy about your pay when you are off sick or injured. Some employees may not receive any pay while recovering from an injury because they are contractors, freelance or because they haven’t worked at the company long enough. Other employees may receive full sick pay for a limited time and then drop to half sick pay and then have no pay. It can vary from each company.

If we find that you are eligible to make a claim, Accident Advice Helpline will fight to get you the most amount of compensation possible and we will take into account all the details, including whether you have received pay while off work.
