Will I get full pay after an accident at work?

The financial pressure of taking time off work is something none of us want to experience, but if that time off work is brought about by an injury, this can make it all the worse. It is for this reason that many people ask if they will receive full pay after an accident at work. The true answer to this question depends on each individual employer’s policy towards such things, as some employers will pay full pay, whereas others will pay nothing.

If you have been injured at work and want to know what your options are financially, the best thing you can do is to speak to a specialist personal injury compensation law firm to see what your rights are, and whether you can make a claim.

Do employers offer full pay after an accident at work?

As stated above, there is no single rule for all employers. The truth is that some employers have more generous policies than others when it comes to employees taking time off work due to an injury suffered in the line of duty. If your accident was caused by negligence of some kind, particularly on behalf of the employer itself, it is more likely that you will receive full pay after an accident at work, but again, it is simply down to each individual employer and their work policy.

Don’t forget, even if your employer does give you full pay, this does not mean that you forfeit your right to compensation, or that you cannot make a claim. Whether or not your employer pays you during your recovery period has nothing to do with whether or not you are entitled to personal injury compensation. If you would like to discover whether or not you can make a claim, you should call Accident Advice Helpline right away.
