What will I learn from IPAF Harness Training?

Not all workplaces involve desks and computers. Some involve working at heights and in these situations proper professional training is required to ensure the person involved is safe at all times. One good example of this is the IPAF Harness training. IPAF stands for the International Powered Access Federation.

This organisation exists to promote responsible use of so-called powered access equipment throughout the world. This includes elevating platforms of various heights and types such as cherry pickers and other platforms that allow for you to reach the required working height to complete a particular task or job.

It will probably come as no surprise to learn that harnesses must be used when workers are using such platforms. This ensures that even if they fall they are still safely attached to the platform. The IPAF Harness training provides all the knowledge needed to ensure all workers in this situation know how to do their job safely.

How safe is it working at height?

Whenever you work higher than ground level there are additional dangers and hazards to be aware of. While training courses such as this one are excellent in minimising any hazards or dangers that may be present, there may still be situations in which potential hazards could exist.

Indeed there may be situations where accidents may occur that turn out to be someone else’s fault. Thankfully these are rare but there could be the potential for such occurrences to happen. Even if everyone involved has taken appropriate training, the potential for negligence to play a role in causing an accident is still there.
