Each year, thousands of workers are injured at work. Often, these injuries are caused by an accident that is no fault of the employee. Furthermore, many accidents that happen around the workplace can be prevented and it is often negligence on behalf of somebody else that causes many accidents. Trips and falls are by far the most common cause of accidents at work. Other types of common accidents at work include electric shocks, often resulting from people not following correct safety guidelines or lack of risk assessments in place. Back injuries are also exceptionally common accidents around the workplace. Often these sorts of injuries are the result of lifting items incorrectly, usually because they have had insufficient manual handling training. The other major cause of accidents at work is impatience and negligent use of machinery and vehicles.
