What is the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)?

What is the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)?

VOSA stands for the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency, which has recently been replaced by DVSA. This new agency (the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) will merge VOSA with the DSA, which was previously called the Driving Standards Agency.

VOSA provided many assorted services related to vehicles and driving and all these services have now been moved over to the new agency. Examples of services provided by VOSA include providing information on whether or not a specific vehicle has a current MOT, as well as a variety of driving services. These include tax discs for vehicles and various permits and fines related to drivers and their vehicles. As such, if you need a service that was previously provided by VOSA, it is now best to go straight to DVSA to get it.

Seeking compensation for an accident caused by another person

Even if you follow all the rules of the road and you take great care every time you drive, you may still be unlucky and be involved in an accident that is caused by another driver. If this is the case you have every right to think about making a compensation claim.

In some instances you may not consider this to begin with. The stress of being in an accident or being injured in any way can be too overwhelming. You may not think about compensation until later on when things have settled down. This is why there is a three-year window in which you can bring a compensation claim before the courts, with the help of a professional injury compensation lawyer.
