Have you tripped on a cinema display?

If you have ever tripped over in public, you will know how embarrassed it can make you feel. Your first instinct would be to get up quickly and move away, especially if people have seen you. However, this could be the worst thing to do, especially if you have hurt yourself. What’s more, it may not have been your fault at all. For example, if you tripped on a cinema display, it may have been the fault of those working at the cinema.

A night out at the cinema should be a great experience, especially if you are seeing a new film you have been waiting to see for some time. There is nothing like watching a blockbuster with friends or family, complete with popcorn to keep you going. So you can imagine how upsetting it might be to trip over through no fault of your own.

Why might a cinema display be a potential hazard?

This could be the first question to pop into your mind, and it’s a fair one to ask, too. You may be familiar with the large displays that are propped up so you see them as soon as you go inside the cinema. They can be very big and require a sturdy base so they remain standing at all times.

The base can sometimes stick out further than you might think, and if this is the case, it should be positioned in a place that will not cause it to be a potential trip hazard. Tripping over something would cause anyone to lose their balance, and if you tripped on a cinema display it could easily lead to a fall.

Has this happened to you recently?

Even if you fall on soft carpet, there is still the potential for you to be injured in some way. For example, you only need to fall awkwardly to break a finger, or otherwise damage a hand or wrist. To this end, it makes sense to report any such incident on the scene if you tripped on a cinema display there.
