"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Top 5 Personal Injury Claims

At Accident Advice Helpline, we assist people with personal injury claims caused by all sorts of accidents and incidents. In fact, if you have been injured by something and you believe somebody else was to blame, then there is a good chance you are entitled to make a claim for personal injury compensation. Personal injury claims vary, but some claims for personal injury are far more common than others are, so here are the top five:

    5. Accidents abroad

When you book a holiday, the last thing you expect is to be left injured following an avoidable accident and yet every year hundreds of people find their holiday ruined by an injury sustained when on holiday. If you have booked your trip through a travel agent, they have a duty of care to ensure you are being sent in to a safe environment, so if you have an accident abroad, you might be able to make a claim for personal injury.

    4. Work related accidents and illnesses

Employers also have a duty of care to their employees, so if you are hurt at work or become ill because of the job that you do, you can make a claim for compensation. Each year, thousands do, which is why work-related accidents and illnesses are among the top personal injury claims in the UK.

    3. Medical negligence

Another common claim people make for personal injury is medical negligence. If surgery has gone wrong due to somebody’s incompetence or you have had a wrong diagnosis, it can have terrible consequences, so it is only fair you are compensated for any pain and suffering this medical negligence has caused.

    2. Slips and falls

The second most common personal injury claims we deal with at Accident Advice helpline are for slips, trips and falls. Whether it is at work or just outside on the street or in shop, slipping, tripping and falling can cause some really nasty injuries and employers, retailers and local councils have an obligation to ensure they keep us safe, so if there is a trip hazard or a dangerous walkway, you have the right to make a claim.

    1. Road accidents

It is probably no surprise that road accidents are among the most common personal injury claims. Injuries from a road accident can vary from whiplash to really severe injuries that require lengthy treatment. Fortunately, the insurance companies pay for all personal injury claims, so if somebody else is at fault, you can get the compensation you deserve.
