If you have suffered a sprained ankle in an accident, you’ll normally find that your injury is classified as either a Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3 sprain. Grade 3 sprains are the most serious type of injury, involving a complete tear of the ligament and instability in the joint. The good news is that a Grade 2 sprain, although not as minor as a Grade 1 sprain, is still considered a fairly minor injury.
