South Carolina woman ‘staged road accident’ to cover up murder

Shaquan Duley, from South Carolina, is accused of staging a road accident as a cover up after she allegedly murdered her two sons.

It was supposed that Devean and Ja’van, aged only two and one, and found strapped into their child seats in their mother’s car, had drowned. The car, its engine still running, had apparently left the road and become submerged in the North Edisto River.

However, it has now emerged that Ms Duley has confessed to smothering the children at a local motel after an argument with her mother about childcare, and setting up the accident as an elaborate cover-up.

If convicted she could face the death penalty.
