    Segway accident claim

At Accident Advice Helpline, our goal is to assist you in making a winning Segway accident claim in the shortest time possible.

Segways are fun modes of transport, providing a novel way to travel from one destination to another. They have increased in popularity, especially among those seeking eco-friendly means of transport. The Segway is a self-balancing, two-wheeled vehicle that relies on unique gyroscope technology to operate. By leaning forward, riders can move the machines forward, while leaning back makes them move backwards. A ‘lean steer’ handlebar enables riders to turn the machines to the left or right.

Unfortunately, these innovative transporters have been plagued by a host of problems, leading to a number of serious accidents. Several cases have been reported where Segways have failed to respond to their operators’ commands. In some of these cases, riders have been thrown from their units when the machines jerked unexpectedly or stopped without warning. Malfunctioning or defective Segways have also been known to cause collisions with other persons or objects.

Segway accidents can result in a number of serious injuries, including spinal, neck, back or facial injuries, broken bones, brain damage, and severe lacerations. Most Segway accidents are the result of inadequate supervision or training, rider inexperience, road defects, or faulty transporters.

If you or a loved one has been hurt in such an accident, Accident Advice Helpline can assist you in making a Segway accident claim. You may be entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering you went through, as well as loss of earnings, medical expenses and other damages.

How much compensation can I receive?

The amount awarded as compensation in each Segway accident claim varies. The amount you are entitled to receive depends on the seriousness of your injuries, the effect they will have on your life, and the financial losses you incurred. Your personal injury solicitor will also consider the payouts awarded to similar claims in the past.

Accident Advice Helpline’s 30-second calculator, found on our website, can give you an estimate figure to show how much your claim is worth. Simply enter a few details regarding your accident, and this online tool will generate an approximate value of the amount you may be owed.

    How to make a claim

The first thing you should do after a Segway accident is to seek medical treatment for your injuries. You should also try to gather as much evidence on the accident as you can. This may include the names and contacts of any witnesses, photos of the accident scene and your injuries, copies of the accident and doctor’s report, copies of the prescription, and receipts of any expenses you incurred that were directly related to the accident.

The next step after this is to hand over the evidence to a specialist solicitor. Your solicitor should be in a position to represent you in any compensation negotiations, and will represent you in court should your case proceed that far.
