"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

What is the Scottish Accident Prevention Council?

The Scottish Accident Prevention Council was established in 1930 and brings together local authorities, practitioners, health professionals, politicians, academics, front line staff and government to formulate strategies for the prevention of accidents.

The Scottish Accident Prevention Council is made up of representatives from local authorities (including emergency services, social work, roads departments and education), health boards, motoring organisations and housing associations. Their objectives are:

    • To encourage debate regarding accident prevention
    • To bring together the accident prevention community
    • To co-ordinate the best accident prevention approach
    • To promote best practice when it comes to accident prevention design

The council aims to bring together the interests of all its members, and to allow them to contribute and share their experiences. This allows them to identify accident trends across Scotland. It also provides members with support, networking and lobbying opportunities and access to good practice.

If you have been injured in an accident of any kind, you may be able to get advice from the Scottish Accident Prevention Council. If you are planning to claim compensation for your injuries, contact a personal injury lawyer to explore your options.

    Claiming personal injury compensation

If you have been injured and somebody else is to blame, you may be eligible to claim personal injury compensation. A three year time limit usually applies to claims, and by contacting a personal injury lawyer, you can find out whether it is possible for you to make a claim. If somebody else’s negligence has caused your accident and subsequent injury, it is only right that you are able to claim compensation for your pain, suffering and any loss of earnings, and the amount of compensation you’ll be awarded will take these factors into account. Choose a law firm which specialises in personal injury and one which is accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers for the best possible service.
