"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

Do people claim compensation after an accident at work?

If you have been injured in an accident at work, did you make a claim for personal injury compensation? It may not be too late – there’s a three-year time limit in place to make a claim, so you could still get the compensation you deserve. Accident Advice Helpline recently commissioned a survey to find out more about workplace accidents, and we asked people if they had claimed compensation after an accident at work. Surprisingly, 71% of people surveyed said they didn’t make a personal injury claim and hadn’t even considered doing so, whilst only 14% of people made a successful claim and were awarded compensation. But why are people failing to claim?

    Why didn’t you claim compensation?

If you didn’t make a claim for compensation after an accident at work, why not? Well, 24% of people surveyed said they were worried how their employer would react if they made a personal injury claim. There’s really no need to stress about this – you can’t lose your job for making a personal injury claim and your employer will have liability insurance in place to pay out if your claim is successful. If their negligence caused your accident, then they should expect to be held responsible.

12% of people we surveyed said that they were worried about the cost of claiming compensation. With Accident Advice Helpline, you can make a 100% no win, no fee* claim, so there are no upfront legal costs to worry about. This means that even if you’re affected financially after your accident, you can afford to make a claim.
