Mel Gibson walks away from minor car accident

The actor and director was involved in a minor shunt yesterday evening in Malibu, California.
Gibson’s Maserati, for reasons unknown, turned right sharply on a left-hand bend and ploughed into a rocky hillside.

California police have revealed that Gibson was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was able to exit his damaged vehicle unaided.

Speeding has also been ruled out as the cause of the accident after the damage to the Maserati was found to be very slight.

Police have apparently ruled it was an accident and nothing more, and will take no further action.
