The man who was run over and killed after attending this year’s Bestival music event was 19-year old Henry Minns.
Mr Minns, of Penryn in Cornwall had attended the music extravaganza with his brother, his girlfriend, and his brother’s girlfriend, but was ejected for not having a valid ticket or wristband for the four-day event at Robin Hill. He was walking along Mersley Down Road at about midnight on Sunday morning. He had just been advised by a member of festival staff to return to the main entrance for his own safety, where taxis and buses were waiting, when they were struck by a Ford Focus.
Although the 20 year old female survived, escaping with relatively minor injuries, Mr Minns was not so lucky. The impact of the car accident threw him into a hedge and he died as a result of head injuries, despite the frantic efforts of police officers to revive him.
Two men, aged 33 and 20, have been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
