How to make swimming pool accident claims

Going for a swim at your swimming pool should be a pleasant experience where you get to work on your swimming stroke and build on your general fitness. You may even be visiting the swimming pool to teach family how to swim. Regardless of what your visit to the swimming pool entails, one thing you would hope is that you and anyone you are with are safe – there should even be a trained lifeguard present to really make you feel protected and secure.

We take care in swimming pools as the area around the pool is often very wet and slippery but as careful as we are, still more and more people are getting injured leading to swimming pool accident claims. If you have been in an accident while at your swimming pool it may be worth speaking to a professional legal advisor.

    Dangers at the swimming pool

The most common injury in swimming pools is slipping. This is due to the wet surroundings of the poolside and even in walkways due to other swimming pool users’ wet feet and clothing. You may have slipped on steps, in the changing room or at the pool area.

Many swimming pools have tiled floors. Damaged tiles, if not replaced or sectioned off immediately, can cause nasty cuts, gashes or lacerations to our skin. They can even lead to a trip or fall causing other injuries in addition to a cut. Swimming pool accident claims may help if you have suffered a fall.

Some swimming pool injury victims report chemical burns from improper care used with cleaning and pool chemicals. Others report injuries from swimming pool pumps and filters. If you have been injured in any way at a swimming pool, find out whether you can make a claim.
