M25 car crash leaves woman critically injured

By David Brown on September 30, 2010

A woman has been critically injured after a car crash on the M25.

The accident happened between junctions 29 and 30 on the motorway’s anti-clockwise section yesterday evening.

Three cars were involved – a silver Ford Fiesta, whose 32-year old driver was arrested after the crash, a blue BMW and a green Mini. The front seat passenger of the Mini, a 23 year-old woman from Chelmsford, was taken to Basildon Hospital where she remains seriously ill.

The drivers of the Mini and the BMW, a 25 year old man from Chelmsford and a 50 year old man from Colchester, were both uninjured.

The Fiesta driver has been charged with dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

The M25 was partly closed for a time following the crash, which happened at half past six, while Essex police carried out their investigations.
