    Common laundrette accidents

With powerful machinery and often crowded spaces, laundrettes can be dangerous places. This means it is imperative that their managers pay close attention, keep floors dry and clear, label faulty machines as out of order and post guidelines explaining how to use the machines safely.

If you have been injured because of negligence in this area, you could very well be entitled to make a laundrette accident claim. Some laundrette accidents are caused by other customers and claiming directly against them may be an option in those cases.

Some laundrette injuries are caused by things that could occur anywhere, like objects being left where you could trip over them or where they could fall on you. Others are caused by the equipment in use – for instance, if a machine appears to have stopped and the door opens because the lock is faulty.

It could then start to spin unexpectedly and people reaching in to pull their washing out can suffer nasty arm injuries. We also encounter people who have suffered chemical burns because other people have brought unsafe cleaning products into the laundrette.

    Getting help

If you have been badly hurt because of something like this, getting compensation could make a big difference to your life. It could cover the cost of specialist medical treatment if you are unable to get it on the NHS, or help you get specialist equipment to make your life easier if you are left with a disability or an injury that will take a long time to heal.

It could also cover the cost of you taking time off work to recover from your injuries. Compensation payouts are usually worked out by taking factors like this into account. If you choose to claim with us at Accident Advice Helpline, we will discuss your needs with you so that we can pursue the right compensation deal.

We have a number of expert solicitors whom we are happy to put at your disposal, maximising your chance of making a successful laundrette accident claim. Do not miss out on what the law says you are entitled to – give us a call and find out if claiming is possible for you. Just dial 0800 689 0500 from your land line, or 0333 500 0993 from your mobile.
